Probably. But in the summer of 1973 he did have just a few more than one visitor to Nemea. ASCSA Summer Session students dropped by (I was one of them), and, alone among our various hosts that season, he had cold soft drinks ready for us in the heat of the day. That first hospitality would characterize all subsequent visits to the site in the years to come.

James HicksUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09601300025111572915noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17598492.post-41019968178066957522009-06-26T21:21:12.475+03:002009-06-26T21:21:12.475+03:00It's wonderful that children's books such ...It's wonderful that children's books such as this one by Prof. S.G.Miller exist! It's so important that kids recognize the importance of history from an early age. Enticing and exciting stories of the past and its important figures like Plato are perfect tools to get kids interested in antiquity and thereby build a foundation for their own awareness of history and a later adult awareness of the importance of archaeology and conservation.

Kudos to Prof. Miller for his wonderful contribution to children's literature!

A.
